But the signs of spring are growing stronger. Winter's cold breath is losing its bite, and there's the faintest hint of green shimmering around the edges of things. I've been watching these pussy willow buds swell on our morning walks, and I finally remembered to bring my camera and capture them against a deep blue sky.
All along our walking loop, chickadees have been proclaiming the new season with their cheerful two-note song: "SPRING-time!" This morning, camera in hand, I stopped to watch several of them industriously gathering cattail fluff until finally Maisie insisted it was time to move along.
