Now complete: one of the two lingering Christmas gifts! I had lots of fun with these patchwork pillows for my nearly-niece Maggie.
She and her family recently moved into their new house, and Maggie has a great little built-in playhouse under the basement stairs. Some colorful, fun pillows seemed like just the thing for this cozy hangout.
There's even a tiny window to peek out. (And a photo shoot is much more fun if everybody gets to take pictures.)
The owl, now known as Hoot, is made from a small rectangular pillow form with some extra stuffing in the "ears." Here's both the front and back views.
The square pillows are variations on the same color palette. Patchwork strips, in four blocks, for this one.

Below is the back view of the square pillows. The colors for the whole project are inspired by the flowery fabric, which Sarah had picked out to match the light-orange walls in the playroom. I found a few more coordinating choices in my growing fabric stash, and off I went!

Looks like the makings of a great nap! -- Cozy nook under the stairs, and not one, or two, but three plump pillows to curl up with.
