Spring is coming, slowly, outside. But inside, the signs are perhaps a bit more dramatic.
In their little trays, under the lights, the tomatoes are on their way upward.

Even more cheerful: Full-on flowers!
My mom brought these cuttings from the forsythia bush in their yard. They were still just bare branches last week when she dropped them off (as she and my dad were on their way to the airport, bound for Florida and an abundance of blooms). But in a few days, the buds swelled and exploded with yellow.
Surely this means there's more spring to come!
