The Swamp Has Eyes

I walk by these guys almost every day, as Maisie and I make our usual loop along the Elmwood trail. They generally seem to prefer an inconspicuous lifestyle. But one evening back in early spring, they just came to life. I couldn't resist snapping their picture.

I'd planned for them to make an appearance on the blog at some point, but they're kind of shy. They couldn't think of anything to say. I finally realized they didn't need to say anything at all.

Especially not now. Currently, in celebration of the new season, they are sprouting crazy tufts of bright green hair. I think their fashion sense speaks for itself.
