Back in my old neighborhood in Reston, Virginia, my friends Anne and Scott are busy with a new baby. (Nate! He's great!) But they have something else to nurture this spring, too - a plot in one of the nearby Reston community gardens. Anne sent this colorful view through the portal of tulips and daffodils popping up amid a profusion of spring green in their garden.When I moved back to Michigan in August 2008, Anne and Scott were not only star players on the pack-the-moving-truck team, they also adopted my much-loved plot #10 for the remainder of the season. But to get a little patch of earth to call their own, they had to wait until their names came up on a long, long waiting list. They're finally in! I'm sure their thumbs are turning green already - keep me posted on the progress, friends!
